Minecraft arch generator for gates & bridges

Set the span, the curve height and the legs, and get the exact arch in blocks with a 3D view. A 13 wide gate arch on 5-block legs, 3 deep with a 2-block ring, takes 198 blocks and is 12 high. Lower the curve for a bridge, add depth for a tunnel.

How to use it

4 steps
  1. Set the span (outer width). An odd span has one centre column; an even span is centred between two blocks.
  2. Set the curve height: half the span gives a round (semicircle) arch; less gives a flatter elliptic arch for bridges.
  3. Add legs for a doorway or gate, a depth for a tunnel or bridge, and a ring thickness.
  4. Build or export: step through the layers from the feet up, or download a schematic.

Questions builders ask

How many blocks is a 13 wide arch?
A 13 wide gate arch with a 2-block ring, 5-block legs and 3 blocks deep takes 198 blocks and stands 12 blocks high. Make it 1 deep and it is a third of that.
How do I make a round arch over a door?
Set the span to the door width plus 2 and give it legs as tall as the door. A 5 wide arch on 3-block legs, 1 deep, is only 15 blocks: it frames a 3 wide doorway with a round top.
How do I build a flat arch for a bridge?
Make the curve height lower than half the span. A 21 wide bridge arch only 7 high with no legs, 5 deep, is 310 blocks; the curve becomes an elliptic arch, which is how real stone bridges keep the deck low.
Thin or thick ring: which looks better?
Thick fills every diagonal step, so the arch has no gaps you can see through and reads as one solid curve (198 blocks for the 13 gate). Thin uses fewer blocks (162) and looks lighter, with steps that touch only at the corners.
Can I export the arch?
Yes. Download a .litematic or .schem for Java, an .mcstructure for Bedrock, or a .mcfunction file with /fill commands. The depth you set is included in the file.
