How to use it
4 steps
- Set the width of the base, and a different length for an oval dome.
- Set the height: half the width is a half sphere; lower is a flatter roof.
- Pick the shell (thin, thick or solid) and step through the layers from the bottom ring up.
- Build or export: build mode on your phone, the A4 layer sheet, or a .litematic / .schem / .mcstructure file.
Questions builders ask
How many blocks is a 25 block dome?
A half-sphere dome 25 wide (13 layers high) with a 1-block shell takes 797 blocks. Its bottom ring has 68 blocks.
How do I make a flatter dome?
Lower the dome height. A 31 wide dome only 9 high is 909 blocks and makes a low roof; a height of half the width gives a half sphere.
Can the dome have an oval base?
Yes. Set a different width and length, for example 31 × 21, for halls and long roofs. The rule is the same: a block is placed when its centre is inside the curved shape.
How do I put a dome on a tower?
Use the circle generator with a tower height and switch on "Add a dome on top", or try the Tower 21 preset in the studio. The dome sits on the top layer of the wall and both are exported together.
Is the dome open at the bottom?
Yes. A hollow dome is open underneath, so it sits on a wall or a floor. Pick Solid if you want a filled mound.
