Questions builders ask
How many blocks is a Minecraft Christmas tree?
A tree 11 wide and 14 high with 3 layers of branches takes 187 blocks: 158 spruce leaves, 20 ornaments, a 7 block star and a 2 block trunk. A big tree for a town square, 21 wide and 28 high, takes 865 blocks.
How do I build a Christmas tree in Minecraft?
Start with the trunk, then build the leaves one layer at a time from the bottom. Each layer is a circle that gets smaller as you go up; every new layer of branches starts wider again. Finish with the star on top. The tool shows every layer, and the 3D view shows the whole tree.
Which block should I use for the leaves?
The tool starts with spruce leaves, the dark green leaves of fir trees. Leaves you place yourself never fall apart, and the files you download mark them that way too. For a solid tree pick a green block like moss, green wool or green concrete.
How do I add ornaments and lights?
Turn on "Add ornaments". Some leaf blocks on the outside become ornament blocks, in a fixed pattern. Pick red concrete for baubles or glowstone for lights. Without ornaments the same tree is 187 leaf, trunk and star blocks.
What does "Layers of branches" do?
It sets how many cones are stacked. 1 makes a plain cone. 3 to 5 make the classic fir tree shape where each layer of branches sticks out over the one above.
Can I use it in Bedrock Edition?
Yes. Download a .mcstructure file for a structure block or a Bedrock .mcfunction. Both use Bedrock block names and keep the leaves, trunk, star and ornaments in their own blocks.
