Easy Minecraft pixel art ideas, with grids

Here are 14 easy Minecraft pixel art ideas you can build today. Each one has a grid to copy, its size and the exact blocks you need. The heart is 9 × 8 and takes 46 blocks; the smallest, the candy cane, takes 36; the biggest, the rainbow, takes 96. They use concrete blocks (and one terracotta), which look the same in Java and Bedrock.

Pick one, then build it row by row!

How to make Minecraft pixel art from a grid

  1. Pick an idea and get the blocks in its list. In survival, 46 blocks of red concrete is plenty for the heart.
  2. Find a flat wall spot as wide as the picture. Put a row of dirt on the ground to build on.
  3. Start with the bottom row of the grid. Count the squares from the left and place the same blocks in your world.
  4. Go up one row and repeat. Empty squares stay empty (or use a block that matches your wall).
  5. Break the dirt at the end so your picture floats on its own.

Press Build it row by row and the build guide shows one row at a time, with the next blocks in yellow and a counter. Your progress stays on this device.

Reading a pixel art grid

Each square on a grid is one block. The thicker lines every 5 squares help you count: 5, 10, 15. Pixel art can stand up as a wall or lie flat on the ground; for floor art, start at one edge instead of the bottom. A Minecraft map shows 128 × 128 blocks, so these small ideas fit many times on one map.

Want your own picture instead? The pixel art generator turns any image into blocks, shows the grid and counts every block.
