101 block circle in Minecraft (radius 50)
A 101-block-wide circle takes 284 blocks for a 1-block outline and 8,021 to fill it. Go around each quarter in runs of 15·5·3·3·2·2·2·2·2·1·1·2·1·1·1·1·1·1·2·1·1·2·2·2·2·2·3·3·5·15. The centre is a single block, because 101 is odd.

| Diameter | 101 blocks (radius 50 from the centre block) |
| Outline, thin wall (diagonal steps) | 284 |
| Outline, thick wall (no diagonal gaps) | 400 |
| Filled disc | 8,021 |
| Flat edge on each side | 15 |
| 5-high tower wall | 1,420 · 22×64 + 12 |
Rule: a block counts when its centre lies inside the circle, the same grid the game uses. Checked 21 Oct 2026.
How to build it
- Mark the centre block. Count 50 blocks out from the centre block in all four directions and mark those four points.
- Place the four flat edges of 15. Centre each flat edge on one of the four points: 7 blocks either side of it.
- Fill each corner with 5·3·3·2·2·2·2·2·1·1·2·1·1·1·1·1·1·2·1·1·2·2·2·2·2·3·3·5. After each run, step one block diagonally inward and place the next run. Do the same in all four corners.
- Repeat for each layer. A straight wall is the same ring on every layer (a 5-high wall takes 1,420 blocks). A dome or sphere shrinks the ring as it goes up.
All 101 rows, north to south
Each row lists its runs of blocks from west to east; "2-2" means 2 blocks, a gap, then 2 blocks.

Questions
How many blocks is a 101 block circle?
284 blocks for a 1-block outline with diagonal steps, 400 for an outline with no diagonal gaps, and 8,021 for a filled disc.
Should I build 101 or 100?
101 is odd, so the circle has one centre block: doors, beacons and pillars line up with the middle. 100 has a 2×2 centre instead.
How many blocks for a 101 sphere or dome?
A hollow 101 block sphere with a 1-block shell takes 26,342 blocks; a hollow 101 dome (51 layers, open at the bottom) takes 13,253. Plan them layer by layer in the sphere generator or the dome generator.
Thin or thick outline?
A thin outline (284 blocks) steps diagonally, so mobs and water can slip through the corners. A thick outline (400 blocks) adds a block at every step, which makes a sealed wall.
