23 block circle in Minecraft (radius 11)
A 23-block-wide circle takes 64 blocks for a 1-block outline and 421 to fill it. Go around each quarter in runs of 7·2·2·1·2·2·7. The centre is a single block, because 23 is odd.

| Diameter | 23 blocks (radius 11 from the centre block) |
| Outline, thin wall (diagonal steps) | 64 |
| Outline, thick wall (no diagonal gaps) | 88 |
| Filled disc | 421 |
| Flat edge on each side | 7 |
| 5-high tower wall | 320 · 5×64 |
Rule: a block counts when its centre lies inside the circle, the same grid the game uses. Checked 21 Oct 2026.
How to build it
- Mark the centre block. Count 11 blocks out from the centre block in all four directions and mark those four points.
- Place the four flat edges of 7. Centre each flat edge on one of the four points: 3 blocks either side of it.
- Fill each corner with 2·2·1·2·2. After each run, step one block diagonally inward and place the next run. Do the same in all four corners.
- Repeat for each layer. A straight wall is the same ring on every layer (a 5-high wall takes 320 blocks). A dome or sphere shrinks the ring as it goes up.
All 23 rows, north to south
Each row lists its runs of blocks from west to east; "2-2" means 2 blocks, a gap, then 2 blocks.

Questions
How many blocks is a 23 block circle?
64 blocks for a 1-block outline with diagonal steps, 88 for an outline with no diagonal gaps, and 421 for a filled disc.
Should I build 23 or 22?
23 is odd, so the circle has one centre block: doors, beacons and pillars line up with the middle. 22 has a 2×2 centre instead.
How many blocks for a 23 sphere or dome?
A hollow 23 block sphere with a 1-block shell takes 1,314 blocks; a hollow 23 dome (12 layers, open at the bottom) takes 677. Plan them layer by layer in the sphere generator or the dome generator.
Thin or thick outline?
A thin outline (64 blocks) steps diagonally, so mobs and water can slip through the corners. A thick outline (88 blocks) adds a block at every step, which makes a sealed wall.
