19 block circle in Minecraft (radius 9)
A 19-block-wide circle takes 52 blocks for a 1-block outline and 293 to fill it. Go around each quarter in runs of 7·2·1·1·2·7. The centre is a single block, because 19 is odd.

| Outline, thin wall (diagonal steps) | 52 |
| Outline, thick wall (no diagonal gaps) | 72 |
| Filled disc | 293 |
| Flat edge on each side | 7 |
| 5-high tower wall | 260 · 4×64 + 4 |
Rule: a block counts when its centre lies inside the circle, the same grid the game uses. Checked 21 Oct 2026.
How to build it
- Mark the centre block. Count 9 blocks out from the centre block in all four directions and mark those four points.
- Place the four flat edges of 7. Centre each flat edge on one of the four points: 3 blocks either side of it.
- Fill each corner with 2·1·1·2. After each run, step one block diagonally inward and place the next run. Do the same in all four corners.
- Repeat for each layer. A straight wall is the same ring on every layer (a 5-high wall takes 260 blocks). A dome or sphere shrinks the ring as it goes up.
All 19 rows, north to south
Each row lists its runs of blocks from west to east; "2-2" means 2 blocks, a gap, then 2 blocks.

Questions
How many blocks is a 19 block circle?
52 blocks for a 1-block outline with diagonal steps, 72 for an outline with no diagonal gaps, and 293 for a filled disc.
Should I build 19 or 18?
19 is odd, so the circle has one centre block: doors, beacons and pillars line up with the middle. 18 has a 2×2 centre instead.
How many blocks for a 19 sphere or dome?
A hollow 19 block sphere with a 1-block shell takes 894 blocks; a hollow 19 dome (10 layers, open at the bottom) takes 457. Plan them layer by layer in the sphere generator or the dome generator.
Thin or thick outline?
A thin outline (52 blocks) steps diagonally, so mobs and water can slip through the corners. A thick outline (72 blocks) adds a block at every step, which makes a sealed wall.
