13 block circle in Minecraft (radius 6)
A 13-block-wide circle takes 36 blocks for a 1-block outline and 137 to fill it. Go around each quarter in runs of 5·2·2·5. The centre is a single block, because 13 is odd.

Rule: a block counts when its centre lies inside the circle, the same grid the game uses. Checked 21 Oct 2026.
How to build it
- Mark the centre block. Count 6 blocks out from the centre block in all four directions and mark those four points.
- Place the four flat edges of 5. Centre each flat edge on one of the four points: 2 blocks either side of it.
- Fill each corner with 2·2. After each run, step one block diagonally inward and place the next run. Do the same in all four corners.
- Repeat for each layer. A straight wall is the same ring on every layer (a 5-high wall takes 180 blocks). A dome or sphere shrinks the ring as it goes up.
All 13 rows, north to south
Each row lists its runs of blocks from west to east; "2-2" means 2 blocks, a gap, then 2 blocks.

Questions
How many blocks is a 13 block circle?
36 blocks for a 1-block outline with diagonal steps, 48 for an outline with no diagonal gaps, and 137 for a filled disc.
Should I build 13 or 12?
13 is odd, so the circle has one centre block: doors, beacons and pillars line up with the middle. 12 has a 2×2 centre instead.
How many blocks for a 13 sphere or dome?
A hollow 13 block sphere with a 1-block shell takes 414 blocks; a hollow 13 dome (7 layers, open at the bottom) takes 201. Plan them layer by layer in the sphere generator or the dome generator.
Thin or thick outline?
A thin outline (36 blocks) steps diagonally, so mobs and water can slip through the corners. A thick outline (48 blocks) adds a block at every step, which makes a sealed wall.
