14 block circle in Minecraft
A 14-block-wide circle takes 36 blocks for a 1-block outline and 156 to fill it. Go around each quarter in runs of 6·1·1·1·6. The centre is a 2×2 square, because 14 is even.

| Outline, thin wall (diagonal steps) | 36 |
| Outline, thick wall (no diagonal gaps) | 52 |
| Filled disc | 156 |
| Flat edge on each side | 6 |
| 5-high tower wall | 180 · 2×64 + 52 |
Rule: a block counts when its centre lies inside the circle, the same grid the game uses. Checked 21 Oct 2026.
How to build it
- Mark the 2×2 centre. Count 6 blocks out past the 2×2 centre in all four directions and mark those four points.
- Place the four flat edges of 6. Centre each flat edge on one of the four points: 3 blocks either side of the centre line.
- Fill each corner with 1·1·1. After each run, step one block diagonally inward and place the next run. Do the same in all four corners.
- Repeat for each layer. A straight wall is the same ring on every layer (a 5-high wall takes 180 blocks). A dome or sphere shrinks the ring as it goes up.
All 14 rows, north to south
Each row lists its runs of blocks from west to east; "2-2" means 2 blocks, a gap, then 2 blocks.

Questions
How many blocks is a 14 block circle?
36 blocks for a 1-block outline with diagonal steps, 52 for an outline with no diagonal gaps, and 156 for a filled disc.
Should I build 14 or 15?
14 is even, so the centre is a 2×2 square: good for a 2-wide door or a 2×2 pillar. 15 has a single centre block instead.
How many blocks for a 14 sphere or dome?
A hollow 14 block sphere with a 1-block shell takes 456 blocks; a hollow 14 dome (7 layers, open at the bottom) takes 228. Plan them layer by layer in the sphere generator or the dome generator.
Thin or thick outline?
A thin outline (36 blocks) steps diagonally, so mobs and water can slip through the corners. A thick outline (52 blocks) adds a block at every step, which makes a sealed wall.
